Onyenze Enwere was born to Enwere Duruanozie's family of Umuduruoha Umudurundom in Obinnoha Mbaitoli L.G.A. Imo State on 9th April, 1933

He attended a lot of primary schools as he was moved from place to place by his father late Chief Francis Enwere Duruanozie. The position of his father as a traditional leader and the distractions at home made his father, a lover of education, move him to a more quiet environment to his friend late Mr. Alishigwe of Umukaegwu village in Akokwa. Here he had the privilege to attend St. Barnabas Catholic School Akokwa in Ideato South L.G.A

After his father's death, he returned home and attended St Paul's Catholic school Umunoha, St Lazarus Catholic school Orodo, and finally Okongwu primary school Nnewi where  he obtained his first school leaving certificate (F.S.L.C) with distinction and won a scholarship which was denied him because he was a non- indigene.

Chief Aghazu, a worthy son of Nnewi, who was not happy about the denial of the scholarship took him to northern Nigeria as a compensation and trained him in business. He lived in places like Maiduguri, Jos et-cetera, where he learnt business. He later returned from the north and was employed by Shell B.P Owerri where he served under late Mr. Isaac Ekeoma in the medical department.

On leaving Shell B.P, he

Ngwanma Enwere (nee Onyeharam Ndiribe). The marriage was blessed with (10) children-five males and five females. While in Owerri, his house became the home of all Umunoha students at Owerri.

In 1962, late Chief T.O Enwere was moved to Onitsha main market for a more developed business (fancy)-ladies materials by his marriage sponsor Mr. Deni of Isu-Njaba. Papa was a fine business man and a politician.

After the civil war he worked mainly in the Oil and Construction industries notably for Guffanti and Agip. He retired in 1980 to assume traditional leadership roles. He held the chieftaincy title of Obiukwu of Obinnoha until his death.

He was a practising Christian and bagged honours in recognition of his   contributions to the advancement of the Christian faith. He was honoured in March 2004 with Ezinna title by His Grace A.J.V. Obinna, the Catholic Archbishop of Owerri. He remained the only Ezinna Umunoha Parish till death and the first to be honoured with the title in Igwebuike zone.

May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.  Amen!
